Shibarium, the highly anticipated Ethereum-based Layer 2 protocol of Shiba Inu, is finally set to launch its mainnet. The news came directly from Shytoshi Kusama, the project’s lead developer, who unveiled the definitive date. Shibarium’s launch is expected to take place during the Blockchain Futurist Conference scheduled for August in Toronto.
Shytoshi Kusama’s Reflection On Shiba Inu’s Journey
In a recent blog post, Kusama, who adopted the pseudonym before joining Shiba Inu, shared his thoughts on the project’s journey and the challenges faced along the way. He emphasized the goal of building a fully decentralized, autonomous, and permanent community.
While many projects have attempted similar feats but ultimately faded away, Shibarium has proven to be different.
Shibarium’s success lies in its unique decentralized structure, meticulously described in the project’s final World paper. It results from the collective efforts of thousands of decentralized Shiba Inu projects and the formidable ShibArmy.
This robust foundation sets Shibarium apart from its counterparts and provides a solid backbone for the community.
Kusama proposed an update to enhance further Shib’s mission of creating a truly decentralized and enduring community.
This update combines branded governance, blockchain technology, economy, territory, and entertainment, with cyber resilience and a vibrant meme-inspired spirit. The ultimate question Shib aims to answer is: How will Shib save the world?
As the project enters its final phase, Kusama plans to release the comprehensive Worldpaper. To make the information more accessible, he will publish it in smaller blog posts throughout the “Summer in Shibarium” event.
The first post was released on Shibapendence Day, which holds special significance for the Shib community. The full Worldpaper will be published on a designated date.
Kusama delves into the basic elements necessary for Shib to execute its mission successfully. It includes the implementation of a DAO wrapped with the Cayman FOUNDATION, which ensures efficient decision-making and asset management.
Additionally, the introduction of the DOGGY DAO(s) is outlined, which will govern different aspects of the Shib ecosystem.
In another exciting announcement, Shib revealed its title sponsorship of the Blockchain Futurist Conference, to be held in Toronto in August.
This conference marks Shib’s third anniversary and provides an opportunity to showcase the completed Worldpaper, unveil Treat in detail, and potentially discuss the long-awaited L2 Shibarium.
The event will also feature a hackathon, booths, themed products, platforms, and services related to Shib, as well as new partnerships and surprises.
Although Kusama won’t physically attend the conference, he will virtually present his insights via AI technology. The conference’s final party will be sponsored by Shib, further cementing the project’s position in the cryptocurrency landscape.
