Shiba Inu Whales continue to buck the market odds in purchasing the meme token. As per a report by WhaleStats, a huge whale bought over 223 SHIB tokens despite the price languishing in the red zone.
A total of 223,077,962,531 Shiba Inu were acquired by the large-scale investor known as “BlueWhale0073,” who paid $2.7 million for this collection of meme tokens.
At the time of writing this post, the whale’s wallet was reduced to 2,008,469,542 SHIB tokens indicating that the holder might have sold his SHIB stock. His current Shiba Inu holdings make up a total of 2.48% of his portfolio and are worth $24,784.
The top 100 ETH investors’ greatest holding, measured in U.S. dollar equivalents, is still the well-known dog token. SHIB accounts for 6.433.285,717 of these whales’ total holdings, or 13.85% of their whole portfolio.
As reported by TronWeekly, Shiba Inu’s price fell by over 20% over the last weekend as an official launch date for Shibarium continues to elude.
The highly anticipated layer 2 scaling protocol was speculated to launch on Valentine’s Day. Shibarium is touted to revolutionize the meme coin’s ecosystem and is set to address the high gas fees and slow transaction speed.
Recently, the Shiba Inu ecosystem’s anonymous lead developer Shytoshi Kusama responded to the SHIB army’s worries over the lack of excitement surrounding Shibarium.
Shiba Inu Community Not Happy Over ‘Awfully Quite” Environment
Kusama responded that the “awfully quiet” was only “temporary,” downplaying the situation.
However, he then explained that because it “does not happen by the switch,” he is unable to guarantee any precise information regarding when Shibarium will be released.
With this, the developer has dampened hopes that the scaling protocol would be released on Valentine’s Day, something he was hinting at before by suggesting that it would arrive in a “heart-shaped box.”
On the other hand, over 100 million Shiba Inu were sent to dead wallets per an update found on the website of the Shibburn tracker, which accumulates data on burn transactions on Etherscan,
In the past seven days, the SHIB army has managed to burn a total of 102,145,155 SHIB from the supply in circulation. In order to accomplish that, around 28 transactions were conducted.
Although the efforts, the burned SHIB tokens, roughly worth $1,290, are still a long way from the peak reached, despite appearing substantial in meme token terms.
