Tron community has been a very active one but got even more vibrant after, a few months ago, the announcement came out that the blockchain wants to do a giveaway of Tesla car. The giveaway landed Tron’s CEO Justin Sun in a scorching spot, and accusers are not done yet (even after a couple of months of the result).
A little flashback
Sun tweeted in March this year that he would do an airdrop that involves USD 20 Million including 1 Tesla to rejoice on the new achievements: The success of Tron, Tether’s new USDT token based on Tron blockchain, and BitTorrent. The only requirement the participants had to do was to follow and retweet his post on Twitter, and a random winner could be selected.
The giveaway draws were made, and the Tesla winner @uzgaroth (user’s Twitter handler) was asked by Sun to provide the necessary details, but Tron CEO immediately had to delete his earlier tweet on giving a Tesla car to another user who goes by the Twitter handler @LeoHuynhPro. Sun later promised the initial user a trip to the niTrOn 2020 conference, instead of a Tesla car he promised. The action by the CEO led to numerous accusations from the crypto community worldwide and also members of the Tron community.
Following the criticism, both winners were promised a Tesla car. But just yesterday, the CEO came out and tweeted he is giving away USD-equivalent to the Tesla cars to both of the winners.
Sun’s tweet:
To bring more transparency to #TRON community, I want to congratulate @LeoHuynhPro, the winner of 28,000 #USD that is equivalent to #Tesla price, thank you for your support to #TRON, and wish the community members all the best! #TRX $TRX https://t.co/d4IsL3uRhg

It is necessary to know that this left a controversy among crypto users on Twitter after many stated online that the amount given to Huynh was less and not equivalent to the price of even the cheapest Tesla car; the Tesla Model 3 is priced at $35,000. Many of them roasted the Tron CEO online with several statements.

Amid this controversy, Huynh plans big, and he doesn’t intend to get a Tesla. He plans to convert his prize money into TRX alternatively. The winner himself didn’t complain about the price difference. Huynh tweeted in response to the prize money he got while also tagging the earlier winner @uzgaroth.
My contract with Tron was successful, I received a reward worth 28,000 u equivalent to 1 Tesla. and converted by TRX. Thank so much ! Tron and Justin. I Love all. Nice day , so happy . @justinsuntron @Tronfoundation @uzgaroth

It is worth noting that Justin Sun also talked on fulfilling his former promise to @uzgaroth few minutes after he revealed Huynh as the winner stating that the second (first, in real) winner will also be awarded the sum of USD 28,000 worth of TRX. Sun’s tweet reads:
I'm also glad to announce the 2nd winner @uzgaroth of #Tesla giveaway. 28,000 $USD value of #TRX had been transferred to his wallet, all the documents were compliant. #TRON keeps up to the promises and keeps delivering the results. But again, the criticism kept coming in for the Tron founder. The whole criticism has been on the prize money sent to both of the winners as many commented that 28k USD doesn’t equal the cost a Tesla car boasts.
