Shiba Inu (SHIB) captured the crypto community’s attention with a spectacular rise during the 2021 bull run. Launched in August 2020 by the pseudonymous Ryoshi, SHIB quickly became the second-largest meme coin by market cap. This achievement defied expectations, even those of Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin.
The history of Shiba Inu is marked by its dramatic ascent, transforming a mere $12 investment into $1 million in just over a year. This meteoric rise has fueled optimism among investors, with many hoping for a repeat of the 2020-2021 rally. These hopes are further buoyed by bullish forecasts, with one of the most ambitious targets being a price of $0.01—a 72,468% increase from current values.
Luis “Del Crxpto” Delgado, a notable market commentator, is one of the most vocal proponents of this target. In March, Del Crxpto predicted that SHIB reaching $0.01 was inevitable, drawing parallels to Dogecoin’s rise. Lucie, a Shiba Inu marketing specialist, echoed this sentiment, although she tempered expectations by stating that SHIB is more likely to achieve this milestone over a longer timeframe, rather than in the current market cycle.
Shiba Inu Investors Running out of Patience
Despite these optimistic projections, some Shiba Inu proponents have grown impatient. SHIB currently trades 84% below its October 2021 peak of $0.00008845, leading to frustrations among investors.
Addressing these concerns, Del Crxpto urged patience, reminding investors of Dogecoin’s journey. Launched in December 2013, Dogecoin struggled for years, dropping from $0.00056 to $0.00009 by May 2015. It wasn’t until 2018—nearly six years after its launch—that Dogecoin experienced a significant spike, reaching a peak of $0.01877.
Del Crxpto used this historical data to emphasize a lesson for Shiba Inu investors. At four years old, SHIB has already delivered more gains than Dogecoin did in its first six years. Del Crxpto, who profited from Dogecoin, has now reinvested those gains into SHIB, expecting a similar long-term uptrend.
For those impatient with SHIB’s progress, the message is clear: patience is key. The road to significant gains is often longer than expected, but history shows that those who wait may be richly rewarded.
